Luxury 101: Creating a state of the art end-of-trip facility

101 Collins Street is an iconic Melbourne building, boasting many blue-chip companies among its tenants. So, when the building management decided to create an end-of-trip facility (EOT) to cater for the growing number of tenants who rode or jogged into work, it was clear this was going to be a state-of-the-art, high end environment that would set the bar for corporate luxury.

Our challenge was to deliver a project that was large in scale, demanded the highest quality, locally sourced, sustainable materials and fittings all within a tight timeframe for delivery. In total, the project called for 604 Lockin P2 lockers that enhanced and supported the luxe facility.

Our brief was to create an EOT facility that fully realised the ideals of a corporate culture that put wellness and health at the forefront. To achieve this, the fit out included towel storage, airing cupboards and ironing stations to cater for before, during and after work exercise regimes.

Alongside the functional aspects of the fit out, the chosen materials – Victorian Ash, Notaio Walnut and Rustic Luca veneers, along with brass fittings – reflected the high-end premium ambience of the facility. Grain matched finishes from bulkheads to locker doors reflected the time and effort spent on creating a truly premium exterior. Lockers were numbered with custom number tags, while the Gantner RFID Smartcard Lock System gave both users and management maximum flexibility in access and functionality.

Since completion, the 101 Collins Street EOT facility has been widely recognised across print, TV and online as one of the country’s largest, and best examples of corporate amenity. We’re proud to have been a vital part of this benchmark end-of-trip development.
