A value-added fitout

End-of-trip facilities are increasingly being seen by businesses as a necessary service to employees who cycle, jog or walk to work. Critically, the facilities need to integrate with the building’s design aesthetic, and offer privacy, security and be fully fit-for-purpose.

Our brief for Richmond’s 4-level 40 River Boulevard office building was to create a locker space that would complement the rest of the facility’s contemporary look. The fit-out included 90 PS2 lockers, ironing board and towel storage units, plus integrated bench seating and shoe storage units. Complementing the black features was doors made from Laminex Jericho, giving the locker banks a modern look. The Lockin team also created custom laminate bulkheads to fit existing services.

The lockers were fitted with Ojmar OCS locks and were constructed to achieve DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) compliance. As the facility was designed for disabled access, special wands were supplied with the locking system to ensure employees with disabilities could easily access their lockers.

As the project builder McCormack notes, the finished facility delivers ‘seamless, innovative design … and adds overall value to the building.’
