End-of-trip experience with the emphasis on premium

The inspiration for this end-of-trip facility couldn’t be more clearly put than to quote Charter Hall: ‘Our premium amenities and services ensure the transition between your commute, workday and lifestyle is a seamless experience…’

The impressive corporate tower at 130 Lonsdale is set close to Melbourne’s shopping precinct, along with access to one of five green spaces within the CBD. Our brief from architects Cox Architecture was to create an end-of-trip experience with the emphasis on premium.

The project included 374 P2 lockers across male and female change rooms, in entrance corridors and adjacent to bike parking, plus an additional 28 lockers for staff use. The luxe walnut toned locker doors are constructed of an Austrian high-pressure laminate called Fundermax Zorro, sourced through our supplier Surface Squared. Each locker door features custom vent cutouts and black vinyl numbering. An eye-catching feature are the curved end panels that transition the banks seamlessly around corners.

We also constructed matching ironing stations in the Fundermax laminate in both male and female change rooms.

The innovative locking system used is LoQit, a hardwired smart lock accessed via terminals in central locations through either a smartphone or RFID card. Another feature is the custom made bulkheads above each bank complete with ventilation slots. This allows mechanically generated air to flow into the facility, keeping it fresh and dry at all times.
